Biju Patnaik International Airport, also known as Bhubaneswar Airport, 3 Km south of the city centre, is the major and sole international airport in Odisha. There are daily flights from Bhubaneswar to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, Lucknow and Coimbatore. The major carriers from Bhubaneswar are Indigo, Vistara, GoAir & Air India.  It is connected to the main city by Bhubaneswar City Bus (Route 207) and other luxury coach buses. The Bhubaneswar Railway Station is 3 Km from the airport. Various cab services such as CarzonRent, Ola Cabs, Uber, Meru Cab, Jugnoo Autos also provide service from the airport to different parts of the city.


Bhubaneswar is well connected by Indian Railways with Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and almost all major cities and towns in India through scheduled rail services. Bhubaneswar railway station is one of the main stations of the Indian railway network and is located almost at the heart of the city. The East Coast Railway has its headquarters in Bhubaneswar. Bus, Cab, Auto services are available here for 24×7 to move to any part of the city.


The main Bhubaneswar inter-state bus terminus is at Baramunda, 8 Km from the city centre, from where OSRTC and private operators run buses connecting Bhubaneswar to cities in Odisha and with the neighboring states of Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. Bhubaneswar is connected to the rest of Odisha and India by National Highways (NH 5), which is a part of the Kolkata-Chennai prong of the Golden Quadrilateral, NH 203, State Highway 13 and State Highway 27. Asian Highway – AH45 passes through the city.
